  Rouge Duffins Greenspace Coalition

This group is dedicated to preserving the greenspace natural heritage of southern Ontario and linking Lake Ontario to the Oak Ridges Moraine, by creating public awareness of the issues and communicating with politicians and other environmental groups.

Whitevale and District Residents' Association (WDRA)

The WDRA of the historic community of Whitevale on the West Duffins Creek in the City of Pickering was formed in the same year as the People Or Planes organization (POP) in 1972. POP was successful in stopping the plan to build a Mirabelle-style airport in Pickering. This Association also fought two unsuccessful schemes to build gigantic garbage dumps on the Agricultural Preserve. Presently, this Association opposes the latest threat to urbanize it.       More ...
